Planer and thicknesser SDMR-2500 BELMASH

The BELMASH SDMR-2500 is one of the most functional combination machines from the Belmash Plant. It features four key functions for basic operations: sawing, planing/jointing, thicknessing, and milling with disc cutters.

The machine is designed for the following operations:

• Thicknessing
• Planing (jointing) on ​​faces or edges
• Planing (jointing) at an angle (along edges)
• Ribbing along and across the grain
• Ribbing along the grain at an angle using a rip fence
• Ribbing across the grain at an angle using a miter fence
• Ribbing with disc cutters.

The thicknessing unit is located at the bottom of the machine. It can process workpieces up to 260 mm wide and up to 120 mm high. The table can be easily raised and lowered using a handle. The table is driven by feed rollers. The workpiece feed is automatic, with a speed of 6 m/min. The maximum thicknessing depth is 3 mm. The thicknessing table dimensions (W x D) are 279 x 425 mm.

The key component for planing and thicknessing is the cutterblock – a solid steel unit with three resharpenable knives, each 270 mm long.

The saw unit is designed to accommodate 315 mm diameter blades, allowing for ripping workpieces up to 117 mm high. The tables (saw and planing) form a single, fairly large work surface. The cutting height is adjusted by adjusting the position of the cutting tool. In addition to saw blades, circular cutters with a diameter of 125 mm and a width of up to 10 mm can be used.

The machine is equipped with a rip fence, which is mounted on guides with scales. It is used for both sawing (on both sides of the cutting tool) and planing. Installation is simple: there is a catch on one side of the fence, and a locking device on the other. The fence guide is made of aluminum profile and can be adjusted at an angle from 0 to 45°. For precise positioning of the workpiece during cutting, the machine is equipped with a miter gauge. It is installed in a special groove on the saw table. The groove dimensions are 23 mm wide at the widest point, 13 mm at the narrowest point, and 16 mm deep. Using the miter gauge, you can cut within a range of -45 to +45 degrees.

The machine has three exhaust ports:

• a 63 mm diameter port on the shroud for removing chips during planing and thicknessing;
• a 38 mm diameter port on the saw blade guard;
• a 28 mm diameter port on the saw blade guard.

Not every machine, even a professional one, has these characteristics.

Intended use.

This is a hobby machine. It is designed for use in a small workshop, garage, or summer cottage, where it will be a true helper. The wide range of capabilities contained in one device provides an obvious advantage when purchasing it.
